How long does shipping take?

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free standard shipping on all orders worldwide — no minimum purchase required. Expedited shipping is available for US customers at checkout.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to over 100 countries including the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and most European and Asian countries. Shipping times vary by destination (12-30 business days for standard delivery).
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you will receive an email with a tracking number and link. You can also track your order on our Shipment Tracking page. Please allow 2-3 business days for tracking to update after receiving the email.
Can I change or cancel my order?
We process orders quickly! You can request changes or cancellation within 12 hours of placing your order by emailing us at support@paintingbynumber.store. After 12 hours, the order may already be in production and cannot be modified.

What sizes are available?
We offer multiple canvas sizes:
- 30x40cm (12x16in) — compact, great for beginners
- 40x50cm (16x20in) — our most popular size
- 50x65cm (20x26in) — medium-large, great detail
- 60x75cm (24x30in) — large, stunning wall art
- Custom sizes — available for custom photo orders
Larger sizes show more detail and are easier to paint (bigger numbered sections).
Do I need any art experience?
Absolutely not! Paint by numbers is designed for complete beginners. Simply match the numbered paints to the numbered sections on the canvas. If you can color within the lines, you can create beautiful artwork. Many of our customers have never painted before!
How long does it take to complete a painting?
Completion time varies by size and complexity:
- 30x40cm: 8-12 hours
- 40x50cm: 12-18 hours
- 50x65cm: 18-25 hours
- 60x75cm: 25-35 hours
Most people spread this over several relaxing sessions. There is no rush — paint at your own pace and enjoy the meditative process!
What is the canvas made of?
Our canvases are made of premium linen blend pre-stretched on a wooden frame. The numbered sections are printed with water-resistant ink that will not smudge or run when painted over. The texture provides excellent paint adhesion.
Are the paints safe and non-toxic?
Yes! All our acrylic paints are 100% non-toxic, water-based, and eco-friendly. They are safe for adults and children (ages 8+). The paints are vibrant, quick-drying, and long-lasting once applied.
What is the difference between Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty?
- Easy (Beginner): Larger numbered sections, fewer colors, simple shapes. Great for kids and first-timers.
- Medium (Intermediate): Moderate detail, 20-30 colors, landscapes and animals. Our most popular difficulty.
- Hard (Advanced): Fine details, 30-40+ colors, complex compositions like portraits and famous paintings. For experienced painters.
Custom Paint by Numbers
Can I turn my own photo into a paint by numbers kit?
Yes! Our Custom Paint by Numbers service converts any photo into a personalized kit. Upload a photo of your pet, family, landscape, or any special memory — we will create a custom canvas with numbered sections and matching paints.
What photos work best for custom kits?
For the best results:
- Use high-resolution photos (minimum 1000×1000 pixels)
- Choose images with good lighting and contrast
- Avoid blurry, dark, or overly complex photos
- Close-up portraits and pet photos work exceptionally well
- Landscape and nature photos also produce beautiful results
How long does a custom kit take to arrive?
Custom orders require additional processing time:
- Design creation: 3-5 business days
- Production: 3-5 business days
- Shipping: 12-20 business days (standard)
Total estimated delivery: 3-4 weeks. We will send you a digital preview for approval before production begins.
Frames & Display
Do I need a frame?
Our canvases come pre-stretched on a wooden frame, so they can be hung directly on the wall without an additional frame. However, adding a decorative frame gives a more polished, gallery-quality look. We offer:
- No Frame — canvas-wrapped, ready to hang as-is
- DIY Wood Frame — stretcher bars for a gallery wrap
- Wooden Frame (+$12.99) — classic wood frame
- Premium Oak Frame (+$24.99) — premium finish
How do I frame my finished painting?
- Let the painting dry completely (24-48 hours)
- Apply a clear acrylic varnish (optional, protects the paint)
- If using a frame: measure your canvas and purchase a matching standard frame
- If canvas-wrapped: attach hanging wire using the included hardware
- Hang and enjoy your masterpiece!
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?

What if my kit arrives damaged?
If your kit arrives damaged or with missing items, please email support@paintingbynumber.store with photos of the damage within 7 days of delivery. We will send a replacement at no charge.
Can I exchange for a different design?
Yes, unopened kits in original packaging can be exchanged within 30 days. Contact us with your order number and preferred replacement design. You may need to cover shipping costs for exchanges.
Tips & Troubleshooting
The paint is too thick. What should I do?
Add 1-2 drops of water and stir gently. Acrylic paint can thicken over time, especially if the lid is left open. Always close paint pots tightly when not in use. If paint has dried out, add a few drops of water and let it sit for 30 minutes before stirring.
I ran out of a specific paint color. Can I get more?
Yes! Contact us with your order number and the color number you need. We can send replacement paint pots. Alternatively, you can mix nearby colors to create a close match — this adds a personal artistic touch!
The numbers on the canvas are hard to see. Any tips?
- Paint in a well-lit area (natural daylight is best)
- Use a magnifying glass for very small sections
- Start with larger sections first, then work on details
- Paint lighter colors first, darker colors last (they cover better)
How do I prevent paint from drying out?
- Always close paint pots tightly after each session
- Only open the color you are currently using
- Store kits in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- If a pot is slightly dry, add 1-2 drops of water
Can I use my own brushes or paints?
Yes! While our included brushes and paints work perfectly, you are welcome to use your own art supplies. Fine-detail brushes can be especially helpful for small sections. Use any acrylic paint brand — just match the colors to the reference image.
